Firstly, buying overseas online is firstly cheaper but sometimes with added
shipping, it could be more expensive
IF, the shipping is free, upon arrival in Malaysia, our Government has a allocation of
RM500 for free tax for any imported toys. Anything above it will be tax and held in KLIA Post Office, it will be some hassle to get there, 1-2 tolls and a distance to get there, hefty petrol fees.
Custom clearance will take from 1 -4 hours depending on traffic.
There is also chances of custom clearance being delay due to the new Sirim rule where all toys have to be tested for safety. This excludes the 15 & Above toys, well sometimes still get held up.
After all that, getting the toy home and finding a missing or broken part, the return & reimbursement is way harder as the toys come form another country and processing takes a while. For your local toys shops, everything is being done for, sometimes if possible toy shop are able to do One-To-One exchange like Robotica Toys, if we have it we will do it.
So sometimes paying a little extra to get form your local retail toy shop isnt that bad after all.
